When Briana first went into the NICU a nurse warned us that this would be a roller coaster ride, there are going to be great days, bad days, and days that are alright. It is a wonderful analogy. We received Briana's brain scan back and she has no bleeding in the brain, which is amazing news. Today was more of a rough day. They think Briana might have an infection and they found a hole in her heart. However, all babies are born with a hole in their heart we just need to make sure that hers closes. As for the infection they are running tests and have already started her on antibiotics. We're hoping for the best, Briana is a fighter and ironically enough her name means "the strong." I really believe that she'll be able to pull through this.
I felt like things were going so well and then we received this news and it worries both Paul and I. It also didn't help that when we went to visit her she was lethargic, she wasn't crying or moving much. Poor baby.
On a lighter note, it seems like Briana is changing everyday. She has eyebrows now, eyelashes, and it looks like her face is developing. They took off the c-pap today to make sure it wasn't blocked and we got a look at her nose, it looks like Paul's!
Look what a little trooper she's been already! And... she is absolutely adorable!! Congratulations and thank you so much for the updates. As always, you are in our prayers:-)
